ARISE STAFF

SAGE PAIK (Àå¼¼Áø Àüµµ»ç) serves with ARISE as the Executive Director.  She has been involved in Korean-American youth ministry for 15 years with ARISE and in the local church context.  She loves working as a team to sow the Gospel in the hearts of our younger brothers and sisters, watching the Lord transform them by His grace and setting them free to serve and change our world.  Seriously ... what's better than that?!  She is a graduate of Boston College and is currently pursuing a M.A. in Marital and Family Therapy at Gordon-Conwell.  Sage came from Korea with her family to Massachusetts when she was little and is a New Englander at heart--loving all the beautiful seasons, the historic charm and longing to see great revival here.  She and her super-duper husband, Young, live in Peabody and are members of Citylife Church in Boston.  If you want, read some of her latest reflections at her blog.

SAEMI CHUN (Àü¼¼¹Ì Àüµµ»ç) serves as the Director of Operations for ARISE and has been on staff since 2005. She grew up most of her life in Massachusetts and takes great pride in being a New-Englander and bandwagon NE sports fan. There is nowhere else in the world that feels like home to her. Saemi fell in love with youth ministry during her college days and was actively involved in it from that point on throughout seminary. She graduated from Wheaton College (IL) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and currently works full time at GCTS as the Coordinator for Shoemaker Seminars at the Ockenga Institute. Saemi particularly enjoys introverted activities such as being outdoors, watching musicals via DVD, drinking coffee, baking, admiring beautiful stationery, and visiting local coffee shops to "read" (sample desserts) ... by herself.

AARON CHEUNG is currently a M.A. Counseling candiate at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was born and raised in Massachusetts and really, really loves the city of Boston. You’ll see him at Cornerstone Church of Boston every Sunday morning. He has a growing list of skills that he hopes will be put to good use. Diapering ... check, flowering arranging ... check, speaking fast ... still working on it. He is committed to being part of what God is doing in New England and lives to see lives transformed by the true Gospel.

JANE HAN is currently a youth pastor at North Boston Korean United Methodist Church with her awesome husband, Nooree Han, AKA "The Emperor of ARISE". She spent most of her years growing up in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, serving in various ministries including music, college and children's. She graduated with a major in Psychology and minor in Religion at Temple University. After graduation she worked for an inner city elementary school in Philly as a therapist and then, by God's leading, moved to South Hamilton, MA. Jane never expected to be a part of youth ministry or ARISE, but just like her journey to New England, she was led to it through Him and is now in love with them! She is constantly learning that He knows best and is longing and praying for revival in the New England area and for it to be on fire for Christ!

NOOREE HAN is a part of the ARISE staff and has been involved in youth ministry for 7 years and has been a youth pastor since July of 2009. He is also a full-time student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he met and currently resides with his wonderful wife, Jane. He was born and raised in the States and is more importantly from the Greatest City in the world--New York. Nooree graduated with honors from SUNY Stony Brook's School of Hard Knocks. His passions are Jesus, music, pastries, sneakers and coffee. He also enjoys finding great hole-in-the-wall restaurants, so contact him if you have any tips!

A little something extra for the youth:  Nooree Han is also the President of the Delicious Pastries Department and Co-Captain of the ARISE Greco-Roman Wrestling Team. He is also the resident "Emperor of ARISE " as of summer 2009 and shall be until Christ returns.

DANIEL KIM has been on staff with ARISE since September 2008. Originally born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, he attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree. He is currently a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA and is serving as the youth pastor at the Korean Church of the Lord in Boston. He has a strong desire, inspired by people like Indiana Jones, to pursue the study of ancient languages. But regardless of future occupation, his heart desires that people everywhere will realize the relevance and reality of the Gospel in their own lives. He tries everyday to live out his favorite verse Philippians 4:4, ¡°Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice!¡±  In his personal life, Daniel loves taking strolls on the beach, dinner by candlelight, and listening to Michael Buble under a starlit night. Though a man¡¯s man, he has been known to show a softer side at times and serenades his fiancee, Grace, with Backstreet Boys, since he has quit playing games with her heart.

ERNEST KIM is currently the youth pastor at Greenland UMC and is in the midst of getting his M.Div at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was born in Texas but as a pastor's kid moved to Philly then to Boston. Although he enjoys sports, hip-hop culture, and Food Network he's secretly a nerd at heart. He wishes to see the youth in New England transformed by the undeniable goodness of the Gospel found in Christ. His favorite Bible verses are Deuteronomy 6:5 and 1 Corinthians 9:19-23.

GRACE KIM has been serving as a youth group teacher for 7 years.  She attended Ohio State University earning her bachelor's degree in Biology. After graduation she taught 6-8th grade science at North Brunswick Junior High School. She wishes to continue her education to receive her Masters in Education and Counseling. She moved to New England after marrying her husband, Daniel, who is also part of the ARISE staff team. Her passion is serving the youth in all capacities, and her heart really lies with those who were orphaned, abused, and neglected.

ERIC YANG is currently in the M. Div. program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and has been serving as co-youth pastor at North Boston Korean United Methodist Church alongside Jane and Nooree Han.  Sports and eating scrumptious junk food are just a couple of hobbies that Eric enjoys. Basketball, fruit snacks of all kinds, taquitos, soccer, baseball, Sour Patch Kids, football, dried mangos, Almond Joys, and Clif bars are just a few examples, but the list goes on and on.  Born in Queens, New York, Eric quickly made his way out and grew up where many consider the best state in America: New Jersey. However, by God’s providence, Eric returned to Queens to receive a Childhood Education degree from St. John’s University. God has gifted him with a great passion and love for the youth today. He seeks to be a servant through which God can communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this younger generation.
